M is for Water

M IS FOR WATER

 In the earliest inscriptions
a wavy line signifies water

mem: ripples reduplicated
a spring gives birth to a river

a digressive mind
meander oxbow meander

through a maze of landscape
finds the downhill run

dawdles in lazy loops
across the plain

making for a sea of wavy lines
drawn by the moon
