Uig Sands, where the Lewis Chessmen were found. Two centuries later, Magnus found a lovely maggoty rabbit to roll in. He knows the word “bath”!

This was taken from Kneep headland. In 1979 a rich female Viking burial was discovered here. The whole area is incredibly rich in evidence of past occupation, from megaliths and bronze-age middens to mediaeval field-patterns and recently-abandoned black-houses.
